40 Watt Hype
40 Watt Hype
In the center of California, a culture that is the underbelly of LA and San Francisco. from the bass bumping out of the ’84 Cutlass to the backyard fiestas, the music of 40 Watt Hype is created—live Hip Hop cultivated from the seeds of a favorite dusty Soul record with a Latin b side.
Born and influenced by the streets of Fresno, 40 Watt Hype started (out of necessity) at a backyard party by front man Aaron Wall and as soon as the music started, the people danced and embraced this new sound. Wall—songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer—a second generation Dutchman from Holland, grew up listening to a multitude of styles and forms of music, from R&B to Hip Hop to Latin. When you hear and see Wall perform, you can feel the love and influence of the environment he is the product of, breaking stereotypes, as he states, “nothing turns heads quicker than seeing a white boy sing and rhyme in Spanish”. As a kid in Eastside Fresno, he learned to speak Spanish from hearing it throughout the neighborhood and from kids at school, and during high school in Fresno’s urban Westside, R&B and Hip Hop further impacted itself on his musical journey.
Viper City Brass Band
Viper City Brass Band
The Vipers are a New Orleans style brass band, originally formed in 2003 for the Mardi Gras season. Over the years we have mostly played on or around the annual Mardi Gras festivities with a rotating cast of musicians. We have been fortunate to have a powerhouse line-up of horn players, percussion, keys, and blossoming new talent grace the stages of our performances. Proud to be the only known Brass Band to grow from Central Valley soil, we’re spreading the Viper City experience through Fresno and the surrounding areas. We grew up with traditional Jazz, Dixieland, Bebop, Funk, Classical and Big Band Jazz as our influences, but with most of our members involved with other local bands and projects, the resulting sound is an eclectic fusion that will keep the party going, put a groove in you, and one you wont soon forget.
White Glove Service
White Glove Service
From San Diego to the Bay The White Glove Service has been revealing their creativity to California. There is passion instilled in every aspect of their sound. Each member brings a unique flavor to this medicine we call music. WGS faithfuls have witnessed them killing stages with national acts including Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Fortunate Youth, and Dub Seeds. No city is left disappointed when these four take the stage. With an album right around the corner and an impressive live performance, look out for White Glove.

In late 2010 the road began. Four strong opinions and four wildly different musical ideas collided. Guitarist Aaron Kipper and Bassist Stilz Stoudmire grew up in Fresno California. Their rhythmic and melodic compositions can be soothing and sweet or undeniably intense. Drummer Clayton Kraus took the long road to Fresno from Birmingham Alabama bringing progressive and driving beats. Singer Jacob Caswell moved to California from Seattle in 2008 but didn't meet the guys until November two years later. Lyrics and soul...

All lovers of Reggae, Ska, Punk, Rock, Ska, Dub and any good music in general can appreciate what these guys are doing. Things are only looking up for...

Our musical history started ten years ago. Anthony (bass), Marcus (lead guitar), Jason (rhythm guitar) and Todd (drums) played together in jazz, percussion, marching and wind ensembles — not to mention various garage bands. In March of 2011, Shawn (vocals) added his unique hip-hop beats, mixing together genres from the past century and giving the rest of the band focus, resulting in a newborn musical baby raised in Fresno, California.
