An Event celebrating the Life of James "J.Dilla" Yancey
We've got an evening of music celebrating the life of JD Featuring Sounds he Produced, Sampled or Rocked!
Special Guests include:
*40 Watt Hype (covering classic dilla material)
*Soulflower Group DJ's: K. Pizzle and DJ Marc
*Shon J

*** James D. Yancey (j.dilla) was an award winning producer, beat maker, mc, dj and father. his production credits include the likes of common, Janet Jackson, the pharcyde, a tribe called quest, busta rhymes and Erykah Badu just to name a few.
Sadly j dilla passed away in 2006 after long suffering with lupus and the rare blood disease TTP.
The J Dilla Foundation was set-up immediately following by Maureen Yancey (dilla’s mother) to help fund inner-city music programs, and provide scholarships to students attending schools that have progressive music curricula.
